Whatever happens Drum gets all the beating February 11, 2009

“Strike”, its a common term used or heard in almost all engineering colleges [especially in Govt. Engineering Colleges..] Today  I am gonna post a strike story which happened in an engineering college in Central Travancore few days before..!! 

 

        Everything started with a fight between seniors and junior.. I said seniors and “junior”  because the fight was between complete third year senior batch in one side and a single junior class in the other side..!! So as you can imagine the ball is in the seniors field..!! hehehe.. 

 

                The fight began and the as usual the staff interrupted it..!!! (Doesn’t these guys have any other job..?? ) You guys may think why I said so.. Because the all whole gang hit only 3 students of the junior class… and moreover these guys were getting this treatment from the initial stage itself..! Almost all the senior batch in the college (3rd years) have already given them the treatment..! hihihi…

 

   Sorry I travelled away from the matter.. Well the teachers interrupted the fight and the team members were called upon for a talk..  Even that time these MF* (sorry to use this..!! ) 3 juniors didn’t show any respect to the teachers ho tried to solve the problem.. They talked very rough to them and even raised their hand against them and even used bad words..!!

                      Finally when the action came from the council, the 3rd year team got suspension and extra bonus features.. (They need to call their parents, need to pay a fine of Rs.500 each…. Nice way to make money for the college..) and the away team (juniors), they just need to pay  Rs. 500 and need to call their parents…. No bonus features for them..!! The action was taken without any investigation or nothing..!! 

                                     So is the fight or the misbehavior against the staff a serious offense..??? Of-course  for me both are serious offense but the misbehavior is far more serious..!! But it was just the reverse for the management..!!!  They didn’t see any mistake in that..!! 

 

                               Thats not fair..!! There can’t be two dishes in a marriage.. one for local invitations and one for VIPs..!! So the students planned to protest against this…!!! The strike started..!! Bad for the initiators.. It was the first strike and so none had any idea..!! The strike started and no responses were there from the staff / management..!! Every single teacher was watching and enjoying the strike as if they were watching a comedy film.!! All the 3rd year students united and took part in the strike..!!  Nothing special for day one of the strike.. Everyone packed up and waited next day to knew the response of the management..!! 

                                                         No responses from the management side..!! The students continued the show..!! Finally everyone became serious… Well a nice and cunning teacher took this opportunity and called the home of each student of her class and told that ” your child is taking part in the strike..!! He is not allowing the classes to go on..blah blah..! ” Unfortunate for the teacher..! When called a parent and said the same dialogue the parent’s response was like this “Is it..! Oh my god.. But miss, my boy haven’t gone to college today..! He is here at home since he is suffering from fever..! “….. hahahaha.. What to say, the teacher disconnected the phone at a glance..!!! 

                               Well by the end of the second day, one the staff used some bad word against the students..!! Is that the way they should behave..??? Well instead of calling the PTA members and calling a discussion between the students, the teachers didn’t take a single step..!! Nice way t o manage such situations..!! Well by the end of the second day, the identity cards was collected by the staff saying that “those who wish to participate in the strike should give their id cards.. ” The management thought that the students will skip the strike, but the reverse happened…  everyone gave away their tags.. and the show of the second day was over..! 

 

                        The next day bloomed up..! Well the day had a speciality..! It was the series exam day..! Since the problem wasn’t yet solved the whole 3rd year students (except 6 chickens ) bunked the exam… and everything ended up with the suspension of the complete 3rd years and still no action against the juniors..!! Even after this the parents are called to come to college for the PTA meeting..!!

               Is this the way to solve the problem..?? Well the teachers / management could have solved this problem by taking the right actions..!! And while ringing up the home the same teacher which i specified above said same blah blah blahs and they also said that your son / daughter needn’t to take part in the strike.. they would have given them the whole protection and all..!!

 

Lemme ask.. how long can these a**h***s give the protection..?? for the complete time period until this students get graduated..???  Huh… well the PTA meeting is next day.. well the 3rd warriors were enjoying a week of no classes..!!! Hoping that the management will at-least now show some  guts and take the necessary action..!! Well whom are they afraid of taking the actions..?? Why are they treating students separately..??

Do Computer Engineering students need a PC/laptop…???? November 21, 2008

Well, computer is an unavoidable household stuff even in the life of an ordinary guy…!! Computer has its applications everywhere..!! So no need to specify the importance of computer for engineering students.. especially computer science engineering students..!!

 

Well here is an incident that i would like to share with all of you..

 

This incident happened in an college in Central Travancore ( since i hail from Central Travancore i do get all the exciting news from here and moreover most of my friends study in colleges here itself…)

 

Well this a story of an Computer Engineering student who wished to buy a laptop/PC since he didn’t have one… So as each child does , the guy went up to his father and told his need..! Since the parent had no idea of these stuffs and about the latest technology, they showed up the need in-front of their son’s class tutor ( the tutor is lady..). The tutor very well in-front of the parents as usual the other lady teachers do when they get the parents of their kill….!! Bechara guy…!! His parents need to hear everything from the teacher and his dream to get a laptop/PC was burnt out into ashes..!! and thus all his plans and ambitions waled through the Boulevard of broken dreams..!!!

The request to get a PC/laptop wasn’t rejected due to the complaints by the teacher… The reason was that the teacher told his parents that there is no use of a PC/laptop for an engineering student…!!

Lemme quote the actual dialogue of the teacher : ” Well, your son is studying Computer Science Engineering. But there is no need in getting a PC/laptop for him. The college is providing all the facilities in the lab itself. We have all the latest technologies in-built in our lab. So there is no need to buy one in personal.He can make use of the lab and he doesn’t even need a PC/laptop for his entire course.. “

Well good enough to spoil everything..!!! 

 

Well lemme tell about the facilities in the lab. All the machines in the lab is configured in Celeron processor, running Win XP, Red Hat Linux, Win 98 and finally Win VISTA…. So you guys may say that the memory configuration may be high..!! Yeah, its very high…. Every machine has 128 MB RAM..!! Moreover every machine is loaded with MATLAB, VB 6, ADOBE CS3 etc..!!If we click an shortcut it takes at-least 5 minutes to get it loaded..!!

 

Moreover the guy i am talking about is a day scholar too..!! Even though the college lab is a big junk and if he plans to make use of the lab, the lab will close by 4.30 p.m. and moreover this guy needs to travel an hour to reach his home..!! If he sets to home at the natural college closing time (i.e. 4.00 p.m.) he will reach home by 6.30 p.m….!! Then we can easily guess if he spends half an hour extra in college for use the latest technology configured machines..!!!!

 

So this is the high end facilities that the college lab provides for the student to make the most the use..!! hehehee..!!  

 

What should i say more… the parents stood still in the words of the teacher and the poor guy needed to suffer for a year to get his wish come true…!!!! Even after a year of conversation with the teacher the teacher was still a rebel in getting a PC/laptop.. But guy’s friends made his parents understand the need of a PC/laptop with the help of their experience and with help of male teachers of some other colleges..!! moreover he was tortured by the teacher on the conversation between his parents indirectly in the class but directly in staff-room..!!

 

Leave the torture aside…!! What made me irritated is that the words of the teacher because i am an Computer Engineering student..!!!

   Moreover when the teacher came to know that the guy bought a computer in personal, she started telling all the parents in the PTA meeting that ” not buy a PC/laptop for engineering students since they don’t need it and if they have already bought then don’t establish an broadband net connection… and if you already have it also disconnect the connection…!!! “

Someone parents responded saying that they know what their child should have and they have provided it. But there is another group of parents who aren’t at all aware of this stuffs. So what they do is that they follow the very precious words of the teacher…!! But according to only a few only got their net connection disconnected..!! Others stood against the golden words of the teacher and made their parents understand the need with the help of others…!!!!

So what you guys think…???

Do we ( engineering students, especially Computer Engineering students) need laptop/PC…?? And why are these lady teachers like this.??? Are they jealous of anything..???

A pic kicked my future at school —- A True Story November 15, 2008

Well this a true story of a boy that happened just 2 days before in the most reputed school in my area. Well many students passed out of this school are now at heights and always wishes to come back…..

So lemme come to the topic.

 

This is the story of a boy studying in 7th standard who got kicked out of the school by the near end of the course period. The dismiss order subject was : “He draw the picture of the principal on the wall.” Funny isn’t it. 

 

This young guy was mind blowing in his studies and had some mischievous in his hands as the normal boys… may be little more extra..!! All the teachers and some of the girls were always against him. The mates always tried to kick his butt and finally they got it kicked….!!! When i came to know about him from others everyone loved him and was disappointed of his dismissal (mainly seniors both girls and boys..)

 

The day that caused the dismissal : 

It was the social science period. As usual the teacher entered the class and saw this guy.. Suddenly she said: “I won’t take the classes until this crap is out of my class….” Nice words for a teacher to say to a student…. moreover to  a student of class 7…….!!!

This great person went out off the class and stood outside very cool…. and when he got bored he went to corner stairs and draw the picture of the principal and giving the honor of the picture to some other girl in his class…(The principal mentioned is very mean even to teachers and students. He very often tortures this guy unnecessarily… And the girl, i think that she was born to only kick him. She was the one who started all the stuffs from lower classes, that is lower than 6th standard. She used to complaint everything about him even-if he was not included in it. And she made her friends to stare and torture him in-front of the public also and this grew as they grew….) 

     Anyway after all this drawings when the teachers questioned the girl about the picture, the guy showed up an said that he draw it and gave her name because she was always kicking him. Anyways what to say when he came to the school the very next day, the principal gave him his gift—– his dismissal letter. The ruthless principal kicked him out for this simple reason and the worst thing is that there is only few more months to get the course year finished and he didn’t even allow the guy to complete the course year…..!!

Why……….??? Why are these teachers so rude to students even at the lower classes…..??? The teachers could have changed him and moreover he is bright-student…..!!!! If i say about the principal —> he is a priest ………….. Are those words told by the social teacher been able to say by a teacher….???? Should have he been dismissed for this kind of reason……????

Why kerala students are so clumsy…???? November 10, 2008

When it come to the keralite students the are found to be very clumsy than the others…… (not all of them but most of them…..) 
They cannot perform very well in the front of the crowd when compared to other students trained outside of kerala… also their iq level is very poor and they aren’t aware of the latest techs or issues happening….. but one thing they are most aware is the latest fashions, haircuts, dresses etc….

why is this happenning…??? is it due to the education system here….??? even if i say there are engineering students those who don’t even know how to re-install windows when it gets crashed…!! 

why the keralite students aren’t able to win among the others..??? why are their shy to express themselves…..?????
