‘Slumdog Millionaire,’ the magical rags-to-riches story of a Mumbai slum dweller, has been nominated in the Best Picture category by the Producers Guild of America.

Most of the Producers Guild of America (PGA) nominees tend to get into the high five for the prestigious Oscar awards.
In their 19-year history, the PGA awards have foreseen 12 of Oscar’s eventual best-picture winners, including last year’s winner ‘No Country for Old Men.’
The winner will be announced on January 24, the ‘Los Angeles Times’ reported.
The PGA, however, snubbed some of the frontrunners like ‘Doubt,’ ‘Gran Torino,’ ‘The Reader,’ ‘Revolutionary Road’ and ‘The Wrestler’ this year.
‘Slumdog’ will compete with others like Brad Pitt starrer ‘The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,’ Batman film ‘Dark Knight,” ‘Frost/Nixon,’ and political drama ‘Milk’ in the Best Picture category.
Directed by British filmmaker Danny Boyle ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ which bagged a lot of awards and nominations has become this year’s Cinderella story.
The film has earned four Golden Globe nominations with Indian music director A R Rahman being nominated for Best Original Music Score. It was also nominated for Best Picture-Drama, Best Director for Boyle and Best Screenplay for Simon Beaufoy.
It has also won two annual Satellite Awards for Best Picture-Drama and Best Director.
The film has already bagged two awards from the Los Angeles Film Critics Association – Best Director for Boyle and Best Music for Rahman.
Based on Indian author Vikas Swarup’s novel ‘Q and A’ and starring Indian actors Anil Kapoor and Irrfan Khan, the film was shot at various locations in Mumbai.
It tells the moving story of a young Mumbai slumdweller, who goes on to participate and win the Indian version of ‘Who Wants To Be a Millionaire’.
But when the show breaks for the night, police arrest him on suspicion of cheating; how could a street kid know so much? Desperate to prove his innocence, Jamal tells the story of his life in the slum where he and his brother grew up, of their adventures together on the road, of vicious encounters with local gangs, and of Latika, the girl he loved and lost. Each chapter of his story reveals the key to the answer to one of the game show’s questions.

Well, marriage is a very important thing in everyone’s life. The most toughest part is to choose the best partner for their entire life…. According to Indian culture the girls/boys would say that their parents will choose for them… Yeah… every parents do choose only the best for their children…!! But the changes have started striking all around…!!

An inter-faith marriage is a union in which the two spouses follow different religious traditions. This can take many forms. For example, the partners may be:
1. A member of a specific religion and a follower of an non-theistic ethical system (e.g. Judaism and Humanism).
2. From two religions that are totally different – as in one Western and one Eastern faith (e.g. Christianity and Taoism).
3. From two religions that have some points of similarity – as in two Abrahamic religions. These are religions “of the Book” which share Abraham as a Patriarch. (e.g. Christianity and Islam).
4. From different major divisions within the same religion (e.g. Roman Catholicism and Protestantism).
5. From different wings within the same religion (e.g. one Evangelical and one liberal or mainline Christian)
6. From different traditions within the same wing of the same religion (e.g. two conservative denominations: Assemblies of God and Southern Baptist.
All marriages and other lifetime partnerships are mixed relationships! Most involve persons of two genders: one man and one woman. Sometimes the two spouses are of different religions, nationalities, races, ethnic groups, economic levels, etc. The more significant differences in background that a couple has, the greater are the challenges that need to be resolved before and during marriage. Sometimes their efforts to reach a consensus can draw the couple closer together. With other couples, their differences will drive them apart.

With the changing of times, we are getting more and more open and accepting our fellow human beings precisely on their personal qualities. It’s not any more a Hindu or a Muslim or a White or a Black so to say… well to some extent.
Inter-religious and Inter-racial marriages are getting equally acceptable and common. However, to be a success, any marriage requires two people who are respecting, responsible, honest and sincere. When two people meet in matrimony, they should respect each other, especially so if it’s an inter-religion marriage. It is very important to remember that all the religions teach the same basic goodness…….if we get through the present time-line we can see the graph of inter-religious marriages rising up…… Why is this happening so..???
Well, when i asked a couple they said, “we married each other because they were fond of each other…. moreover even if their parents choose a partner for them it will take time to know each other completely… but in our case we are known to each other for the past few years……!! “
Well that’s true… it will surely take sometime to understand each other… But isn’t that the thrill of marriage…??? But in the other hand to marry a person whom we know well each other is better than ever…..!! I think that’s why the inter-religious marriages rise up daily…!!
Even if the parents protest against the marriage the couples would surely get married because they do earn to a great extent…!! But the main question is that ” Is their life successful..?? “…. Well there are many successful married couples….. ” Dimple and Anupam” , “SRK and Gauri” and many others in our local areas too…. may be many among our family too… But aren’t failures too….?????
Well now a days many support inter-religious marriages… When it comes to these types of marriages another main question showing up is that ” Which religion would their children follow…?? “… There is a constant hustle in the parents that the child follows his/her religion. Isn’t it more important that a child becomes a good human being? This can be taught to him by adopting the goodness of both the religions. Here, it’s very important for parents not to be selfish. We should focus on teaching the child good values which everyone would agree is the basis of every single religion. There have been instances, when adults abandon the religion given to them by their parents and adopt some other religion that they are convinced is better. I think we should let our children decide what religion they would like to adopt when they are capable of deciding for themselves.
Another main problem was the process of conversion from one religion to another…..Lemme ask one-thing….. ” Is life meant for religion or religion meant for life…??? “
Well now a days, many religious communities support inter-religious marriages even without conversion…. For example, inter-religious marriages do take place at Churches if the groom is a christian…. The best example is the marriage of the Malayalam cine star Jagathy’s daughter…..!!

Well in my personal view I do support inter-religion marriage because I will be marrying the person whom I know well in all aspects and the other knows me well in all aspects…..!!.. Moreover my view has always been that the question of religion is often side-tracked in a marriage. Marriage is not about religion. There are bigger problems to marriage than religion. I am talking about marriage of two people who are really in love with a very practical outlook towards life. So if we dare to live together shouldn’t our parents support us…>???? Why should they protest….???? I think this quote will surely suit for the protesting parents… “…unity within diversity adds a richness and beauty to marriage and to life.” Rev. Tom Chulak, Unitarian-Universalist minister.

On other-hand, it is loyal and best to marry a partner which our parents select….. Because there would be no split in the relationships….. But in most cases these relations do come and bind together later even if a split occurs….!!
So is it good to marry a girl of our like (main from other religion) and take the risks….. or is it better to marry a partner which our parents select.>>???? What should we say…??? Yes/ No…>????

Millions of songs. Thousands of movies. Hundreds of games. The new iPod touch.

Having played around with my Nano 3G for a couple of months and loving it, I was totally unprepared for the sudden pang of regret followed by a flash of good old jealousy when the iPod Touch was palmed on to me for a long term review. While PMP shopping, I had told myself I could do without the allure of the large touchscreen; was I fooling myself?

Day 1: Change the World—Eric Clapton
The package’s nice—USB cable for data and charging, typical Apple earbuds and transparent plastic stand—all accessories present. Still no iTunes bundled. The Touch is rather heavy for a PMP,courtesy the steel back. The chrome finished rear looks hot, but scratches easy.
Day 2: Many Rivers to Cross—UB40
I upgraded the firmware to version 1.1.3; syncing anything still requires iTunes (sigh), though you can interrupt the process with the swipe of a finger. Unlike the Nano or the Video models, you don’t have to disconnect the device from iTunes to interface with it (play music, watch videos etc)—a serious plus for me, since I listen to music while my device is connected.
Day 4: The Look—Roxette
I ripped my copy of Beowulf to the Touch. Syncing movies is painful—iTunes creates another copy of the movie in the relevant format, and then the syncing occurs. Video playback is good—nearly as good as on the PSP (PlayStation Portable)—high praise indeed!
Day 6: Can I touch you there—Michael Bolton
Played with the touchscreen some more; it works well, for the most part. Very gimmicky, and once the initial glamour dies down, it’s just another PMP. I love the finger-swipe browsing and the two-finger stretch to enlarge photos—nifty and ultra cool! Browse through albums, tracks, and videos with just a finger—and the Touch works much better than most touch devices I’ve worked with.
Day 9: Meadows of Heaven—Nightwish
A few favourites have been playing—Jim Morrison (The Doors), Eric Clapton, Dire Straits and U2, and I’ve caught myself unabashedly tapping my feet. Music is spot on, vocals have a very natural timbre, Jim Morrison sounds rustic, and Clapton’s guitar in Layla and She’s Waiting comes to life with realistic mids. Apple’s default earplugs are crap as usual, and you’re better off dumping them straight away than punishing your ears.
Day 14: Another day in Paradise—Phil Collins
Thanks to the gorgeous screen, all photos look good on the Touch; just don’t zoom in—graininess and loss of detail will greet you. It seems they’re optimised for full screen viewing, and that’s it. Battery life nosedives when you fiddle around with the screen. I got 8 hours of MP3 playback with moderate touchscreen use—mostly around albums, playlists and such. The new firmware (1.1.3) was supposed to add 3 hours to music playback—I got 1.5 hours; not too bad.
Day 19: Life in the fast lane—The Eagles
Safari—the Web browser—is a little slow. WiFi transfers work well, and the Touch makes for a great companion at congested airports with open WiFi access. For me, this puts the Touch into a league of its own.
Day 22: Feels Like Heaven- Peter Cetera
This is a great PMP, good video playback, a very good music player, and a functional and funky touchscreen that will get you envious glares on the street, trains and buses. What’s not to like? The price, for one—Rs 14,500 is a little expensive for my tastes. Besides, the Touch is a little heavy to jog or work out with. That’s it; no more complaints.

This piece of mine was published today under the headline “Politicians can be so boringly predictable” in Mail Today, a new paper started in Delhi by India Today and The Daily Mail.
Many years ago, before the satellite TV revolution, there used to be a video newsmagazine called Newstrack that I rather enjoyed. There is one scene from it that I still remember. If memory serves me right, it began with a shot of the bottom of Devi Lal’s sports shoes as he reclined on a garden chair, his foot rested on some kind of support. (I could be wrong, but I vaguely remember he wore a banyan and a dhoti on top.) An interview began, and the interviewer asked him why he had made his son, Om Prakash Chautala, the chief minister of Haryana. Devi Lal replied:
”Tho kya Bhajan Lal ke chhore ko banaaoo?”
An English translation —“Then shall I make Bhajan Lal’s son the chief minister?” –cannot match the rustic delight of it. I loved that riposte, and remember it still, because it was a rare moment of honesty from an Indian politician. Devi Lal could have said that his son was a fine leader, and had served the people of Haryana. He could have said that it was a democratic decision by the party. But his statement made no pretence of denying what we all already know: Politicians are motivated by nothing other than a lust to power, and once they acquire it, they want to pass it on, like a material possession, to their progeny.
Now imagine Sonia Gandhi, asked why Rahul Gandhi has been elevated in the Congress Party, saying: “Tho kya LK Advani ke chhori ko banaaoo?”
Young Rahul has received many fulsome tributes recently, but has no political achievements to his credit, and hasn’t come up in the party the hard way. (Unless waiting is considered hard, as it might well be for a crown prince.) But no one in the Congress Party will have the cojones to admit that Gandhi’s position comes from Gandhi’s name, and nothing else. The language of politics is couched in doublespeak, and Indian politics is all about double standards. Dynastic politics is not the only example of this, and it is certainly not restricted to the Congress Party.
Convenience, not principle
Consider the nuclear deal, to take a recent example. The BJP has opposed it, with Rajnath Singh saying that “it is not good for the future of the country,” and Murli Manohar Joshi claiming that it will make India “a junior partner of the US.” But can anyone have any doubt that if the NDA had come into power in the last elections, and a BJP prime minister had brought an identical deal to the table, the party would have supported it vociferously? There would have been much nationalistic rhetoric about how the deal would take India into the league of superpowers, and how we would have a decisive advantage over Pakistan, and so on.
And the Congress would have opposed it tooth and nail.
Now consider Nandigram. I have no doubt that if an identical crisis had erupted in Gujarat, the positions of the parties involved would have been reversed. The BJP would have spoken about how the state needs to be industrialised, and the Left parties would have agitated for the rights of the poor peasants who were forcibly being deprived of their land. Er, actually, wait a minute – remember Narmada?
When the BJP wanted to discuss Nandigram in parliament recently, the Left protested, saying that it was a state subject. The BJP ridiculed that assertion. How easily I can imagine those positions being reversed on the issue of Gujarat 2002.
Indeed, it is mildly amusing to see the self-righteousness of the Congress and the Left on Gujarat. The 1984 riots in Delhi and the brutality at Nandigram differ from Gujarat 2002 only in matters of detail. Indeed, one can actually take the quotes and the principles espoused by all these parties on any one of these issues, shift the context, and boom, the same quotes apply, if uttered by a different party. Everywhere, same difference.
I was immensely amused recently to hear BJP leader VK Malhotraspeak out in favour of free speech. He demanded that Taslima Nasreen “be given full protection and citizenship” and said that “India believes in freedom of speech.” MF Hussain must be chortling in Dubai as he reads that, if not positively choking on a frappe.
If the BJP supports free speech, Mother Teresa danced at the Moulin Rouge.
The truth is that the only politicians in our country who actually act on the basis of principles are a few deranged souls on the extreme right and the extreme left. Not a single mainstream politician in this country cares about principles. They are motivated by one thing only: what Devi Lal would refer to as gaddi. When they claim to espouse principles, they do so as a tactical ploy of the moment. As the moment changes, their principles change.
Our opposition parties, in fact, understand only one dharma: to be in opposition. No matter what they otherwise claim to believe in, they will oppose everything the government does – as the BJP’s stand on the nuclear deal indicates. Indeed, if the UPA government was to announce tomorrow that it is building the Ram temple in Ayodha, the BJP would certainly find a way to oppose it. Perhaps they’d bring Vastushastra into it, or they’d claim that the temple toilet faces Varanasi and is an insult to all Hindus, or some such humbug.
It’s all sauda
Isn’t politics everywhere like this? Well, yes and no. Politicians everywhere are human beings who respond to incentives, and they’re obviously in it for the power. If they only wanted to do good to humankind, they’d be social workers or businessmen – successful businessmen are successful because they serve the needs of people – or columnists. (The last is a pathetic justification for my own vocation.) Not politicians.
Still, if you compare Indian politics with American politics, it is easier to find politicians there who stand up for certain principles even when those are unpopular. Consider the ongoing US primaries, for example: John McCain consistently speaks out against torture, even though the Republican base prefers a more macho position. (Mitt Romney panders to them by suggesting that the size of Guantanamobe doubled.) Rudy Giuliani is pro-choice, a position that would normally doom him among the Christian conservatives who dominate the Republican primaries. Hillary Clinton has repeatedly refused to apologize for her 2002 vote for the Iraq War Resolution, or admit that it was a mistake, despite the Democratic base being so strongly against that war.
In America, the character of the leaders you are voting for matters, as do the policies they support. People vote for whichever politician comes closest to their worldview, and that worldview is a mix of complicated factors, from economics to politics to identity. In India, identity dominates.
Most Indian politics is identity politics. Mayawati’s rise or Lalu’s long reign in Bihar stand testament to the power of saying: “You guys have been screwed over for too many years now. Put me in power, and I will distribute the spoils to you.” It’s also entitlement politics, a politics of give-and-take, of promises made, sometimes material – remember Karunanidhi and his nine million colour TVs? – sometimes pertaining to jobs and power. But higher principles are entirely absent from such politics. And yet, our politicians couch their rhetoric in the language of principles, fooling only the wilfully self-delusional.
I have one question at the end of this: I think it is obvious, and we all accept, that our politicians are deeply dishonest when it comes to politics. Why, then, do we expect any different from them when they are in government?

Well the world of media has very well equipped influence in our daily life. We even choose the stuffs from the lower end to the high even sometimes based in the ad they published. So in another way the world of ad is rocking our daily lives…
Since each ad represent an product in the market and since they may have competition in the same field the company always tries to impress the audience that their product is much far better than the other ones in the market. In the initial stages the identity of the competent product wasn’t revealed through the ad. But as the world changed, the way to ad publishing also changed… Instead of just showing their product and saying Blah Blahs, now the companies started to bring down the other products directly through their ads.
Actually this all started with the ad fight between Pepsi : Youngistan Meri Jaan and Thumps Up : Taste the thunder. When Pepsi released their new ad ” Youngistan Meri Jaan” , Thumps Up showed up showing theirs fingers up at them… Then came Pepsi into action. They mocked the ad of Thumps Up.
Well this is the ad of Thumps Up :
Well Akshay Kumar showed some of his stuffs in this ad. But as soon as this ad got released Pepsi came up with their new ad.. Check it out :
Well not bad rite..!! huh..!!
When this fight came to the scene of ads we can imagine that this is a commercial fight between 2 world famous cool drink brands…
After all this i think that there were no such war ads. But now following the path of the great brands, other 2 of them have come into the scene. If I say about the brand, it is famous and it is especially made for kids…>. The brands are Horlicks and Complan.
After the performance of the formers these 2 have entered the scene with the new ad by Horlicks. They compare their product with Complan. But until now Complan hasn’t showed up with a rebel ad against Horlicks.. I don’t know why… Maybe the the media team didn’t get any idea…!! hehehehe
Well this is the new ad of Horlicks :
Cool rite..>???
Anyway I hope that new interesting ads will be waiting for us in the future and instead of the world war , ad war will happen and moreover the most of the war will be legal and so many lawyers having no cases will finally get some….!!!

Wallah..!!
Well in this tightly scheduled busy society living which gears up their life without giving a bit of importance to their relations everything is extremely different for me from the others
…. Everything means everything i.e my routine, my free time, my relations etc…..!!!
Well if i say, i started this blog when my universities were on the go and even then i do write posts during these time and even now my exams aren’t over..! So now i think you guys have got what i meant by extremely different..!!
Well lemme come to the topic that i actually want to share..!! “Wherever you go our network follows ” is the famous punch-line of VODAFONE… But when it comes to my case the punch-line should be rewritten as ” wherever i go my relations follows..!! “
I said so because wherever i used to hang-out or go or even study i would find my cousins there..!!!
I did my matriculate education in De Paul E.M.H.S.S Kuravilangad..!!! I studied there for 7 years and the craziest fact is that i came to know that i had cousins in the same school in the last year only..!! Even my classmate (from 4th onwards) was my cousin and i realized it when i was in 10th only (i.e my final year in that school. I had other cousins who were my juniors and found them in this time period only..!! )…!! hehehe…
Well then came my junior college studies..!!! Well the same thing happened in the final year..! I came find my cousins in my same batch..!!! And finally now i am doing my engineering..!!! Well for my luck itself i came in contact with cousins in the initial stage itself..!!! Then everything went normal and i took care to find my cousins when the new batch juniors came in….!!

Since i take down my lecture notes very accurately, i need to go to my aunty’s institution at Thripunithura where she gives tuition to engineering students..!!! Since she is my aunt i came to know that there where no-one of our family studying there..!! Finally a place where i didn’t find my cousins..!! Everything went natural till today, because i found my cousin there also..!! And meeting this cousin the funniest thing of all…..!!

Well, since i wanted to improve my writing skills i started my blog a week ago..!!
Well starting a blog had many encouragement from my friends ( these friends aren’t my college mates…) . Well, since they promoted my blog and encouraged me to write i became very interesting in posting topics and thus i had many visitors for my blog…..!! I am saying this because everything started with blogging..!!

I wrote 2 to 3 posts within 3 days and the initial post hadn’t any reply and i was sad of it because i thought that i would get enough response for the initial one..!! Finally i got an response from a girl whom i didn’t even know….!! I was very happy to get the first comment on that topic..!!! ( Most topics have no comments but i was very hopeful about the initial topic of my blog..)

Anyway as my university exams was on the go, i went to my aunt’s institution to study..!! During the leisure chit-chat time between us i came to talk to my aunt about the incident that happened in my sister’s school last day ( I have posted it in my blog..!!)… Well during this conversation a girl who sat behind me showed up and said that she has read this topic in a blog and don’t remember the blog..!!
Then i said that i was the one who posted it but since i was born child to blogging one of my friend reposted it in his blog and gave a link to my blog that the topic was initially posted by me..!! Well she also joined our conversation and after sometime she said that she had posted a comment on the blog which she read the topic..!! Initially i thought that she must have commented in my friend’s blog..!! But then suddenly my aunt called her by her name and this stroked me..!! Since i got the first comment in my blog i noticed the name of the person who posted it and the person had the same name of this girl..>!!

So since i was anxious i asked whether did she post a comment in the particular topic..?? She said yes..!! Finally i came to meet the person who posted the first comment in my blog and i revealed that the blog was mine..!!! hahaha..!

Then the chain of friendship was chained between us and we chatted through orkut for 2 days..!! Everything went normal…!! Moreover she knew one of my friends..!! I thought that she was his classmate or someone who knew each other..!!
After 2 days we friends planned to hang out in ekm..!! (Actually hang out some special purposes..) When i met him and talked about this person i came to know that these 2 haven’t yet met..!!! hahahaha..!!!

Anyway after our hang out i returned home and sat in-front of my laptop, looking at my blog thinking for a new interesting topic to post..!!!! Since i didn’t get any left and thought to do a post the next day ( i.e today) …. When i logged in to my orkut account i met with the girl..>..!! Suddenly i got a shocking scrap from this person
saying that we are cousins…!!!!!!
Oh my god what to say more…!! Blogging led me to meet my new cousin…!!!!
And now i have got more than 450 hits in m blog and more than 450 friends in my orkut and deals with many people daily…!! and i am not sure that how many of these are my cousins…!!!!!!.
…. So if possible i will meet up with more of my cousins..!! hehehehehe…….!!!

Well, computer is an unavoidable household stuff even in the life of an ordinary guy…!! Computer has its applications everywhere..!! So no need to specify the importance of computer for engineering students.. especially computer science engineering students..!!
Well here is an incident that i would like to share with all of you..
This incident happened in an college in Central Travancore ( since i hail from Central Travancore i do get all the exciting news from here and moreover most of my friends study in colleges here itself…)
Well this a story of an Computer Engineering student who wished to buy a laptop/PC since he didn’t have one… So as each child does , the guy went up to his father and told his need..! Since the parent had no idea of these stuffs and about the latest technology, they showed up the need in-front of their son’s class tutor ( the tutor is lady..). The tutor very well in-front of the parents as usual the other lady teachers do when they get the parents of their kill….!! Bechara guy…!! His parents need to hear everything from the teacher and his dream to get a laptop/PC was burnt out into ashes..!! and thus all his plans and ambitions waled through the Boulevard of broken dreams..!!!
The request to get a PC/laptop wasn’t rejected due to the complaints by the teacher… The reason was that the teacher told his parents that there is no use of a PC/laptop for an engineering student…!!
Lemme quote the actual dialogue of the teacher : ” Well, your son is studying Computer Science Engineering. But there is no need in getting a PC/laptop for him. The college is providing all the facilities in the lab itself. We have all the latest technologies in-built in our lab. So there is no need to buy one in personal. He can make use of the lab and he doesn’t even need a PC/laptop for his entire course.. “
Well good enough to spoil everything..!!!
Well lemme tell about the facilities in the lab. All the machines in the lab is configured in Celeron processor, running Win XP, Red Hat Linux, Win 98 and finally Win VISTA…. So you guys may say that the memory configuration may be high..!! Yeah, its very high….
Every machine has 128 MB RAM..!! Moreover every machine is loaded with MATLAB, VB 6, ADOBE CS3 etc..!!If we click an shortcut it takes at-least 5 minutes to get it loaded..!!
Moreover the guy i am talking about is a day scholar too..!! Even though the college lab is a big junk and if he plans to make use of the lab, the lab will close by 4.30 p.m. and moreover this guy needs to travel an hour to reach his home..!! If he sets to home at the natural college closing time (i.e. 4.00 p.m.) he will reach home by 6.30 p.m….!! Then we can easily guess if he spends half an hour extra in college for use the latest technology configured machines..!!!!
So this is the high end facilities that the college lab provides for the student to make the most the use..!! hehehee..!!
What should i say more… the parents stood still in the words of the teacher and the poor guy needed to suffer for a year to get his wish come true…!!!! Even after a year of conversation with the teacher the teacher was still a rebel in getting a PC/laptop.. But guy’s friends made his parents understand the need of a PC/laptop with the help of their experience and with help of male teachers of some other colleges..!! moreover he was tortured by the teacher on the conversation between his parents indirectly in the class but directly in staff-room..!!
Leave the torture aside…!! What made me irritated is that the words of the teacher because i am an Computer Engineering student..!!!
Moreover when the teacher came to know that the guy bought a computer in personal, she started telling all the parents in the PTA meeting that ” not buy a PC/laptop for engineering students since they don’t need it and if they have already bought then don’t establish an broadband net connection… and if you already have it also disconnect the connection…!!! “
Someone parents responded saying that they know what their child should have and they have provided it. But there is another group of parents who aren’t at all aware of this stuffs. So what they do is that they follow the very precious words of the teacher…!! But according to only a few only got their net connection disconnected..!! Others stood against the golden words of the teacher and made their parents understand the need with the help of others…!!!!
So what you guys think…???
Do we ( engineering students, especially Computer Engineering students) need laptop/PC…?? And why are these lady teachers like this.??? Are they jealous of anything..???

Well no one needs to be told about the great star ” Mickey Mouse “. Most of us have mickey cartoons from the spoon feeding age it self.. Well in my case i started seeing mickey cartoons at the age of 1..!! hehee..!!
So MIckey turned out 80 last day..!! even though he turned 80, has no heir and there is not even a single grey hair in his head….!!! Why should he have one..??? He is never ever gonna die..!! New mickey cartoons may not get released but even-though he will always live in all our hearts..!!

He’s a little rounder, a little squatter, and he’s been wearing the same clothes for decades, but all in all he looks pretty good. Sure, Mickey hasn’t had a movie in two years (his last one went direct-to-video), but his cheerful face remains one of the most recognizable images in the world, even beating out Santa Claus. Disney threw a big party for the mouse’s 75th birthday, so this year’s festivities will be comparatively subdued.
Mickey’s story, however, starts with a rabbit. Disney Brothers Studio was just another cog in Universal Pictures’ animation machine when, in 1927, Walt Disney created a character called Oswald the Lucky Rabbit. With his round, white face, big button nose and floppy black ears, the smiling Oswald was an instant hit and Universal ordered a series of shorts. When Disney met with executives to negotiate another contract in 1928, the rabbit was still riding high and the animator thought he had the upper hand. Instead, the studio told him that it had hired away all of his employeees and retained the rights to Oswald. Univesral offered to keep Disney if he took a lower salary, but he refused. He and Ub Iwerks — the one loyal animator who stayed with Disney Bros. — returned to work and held a series of hair-pulling, late-night brainstorming sessions for Oswald’s replacement. They shortened the ears, added some extra padding around the middle, and turned the rabbit into a mouse. Named Mortimer. The moniker didn’t last; there are a number of tales attempting to explain how and why — the most popular being that Disney’s wife hated the name and suggested its replacement — but soon he was ready for his debut as Mickey.

The first two Mickey shorts drew no attention, but then came Steamboat Willie, the first animation to feature synchronized music and sound effects, hit the screen. The film premiered in New York on Nov. 18, 1928 and was an instant hit. A series of Mickey Mouse shorts appeared within a matter of months — including Plane Crazy, a short that predated Steamboat Willie in which Mickey plays a rodent Charles Lindbergh. The mouse was a national fad by the end of the year, and it wasn’t long before the real genius of Walt Disney kicked in: marketing. Walt quickly started up a line of Mickey merchandise, and within two years the Mickey Mouse Club, a fan club for children, was up and running.
In 1935, a young animator named Fred Moore gave Mickey his first makeover. Earlier animators had drawn the mouse as a series of circles, which limited his movement. Moore — who later animated Fantasia’s Sorcerer’s Apprenticesegment — gave him a pear-shaped body, pupils, white gloves and a shortened nose, to make him cuter. Mickey also appeared in color for the first time that year; The Band Concert’s use of Technicolor was so innovative that critics still consider it to be a masterpiece.

By 1937, Disney Studios was producing about 12 Mickey shorts a year, with Disney himself providing the mouse’s high-pitched voice. Mickey became a football hero, a hunter, a tailor, and a symphony conductor. He accidentally sprayed himself with insecticide, rescued Pluto from the dogcatcher, crashed a car into a barn, fell behind on his rent, enlisted in the army, had his house repossessed, and lost Minnie to an innumerable string of muscular bad boys (although he always won her back in the end). The cartoons’ vaudevillian overtones made liberal use of slapstick and puns, and Mickey’s close association with children required that he always remain upstanding and moral (leaving the cantankerous Donald Duck to get into all the trouble).
By the 1950s, Mickey had theme park, a newspaper comic strip, and The Mickey Mouse Club, the hit television variety show that has launched the careers of teen stars from Annette Funicello to Justin Timberlake. But soon Disney feature films like Bambi and Sleeping Beauty began to rake in the accolades — and box office receipts — the mouse faded into the background. Between his last 1953 cartoon short, The Simple Things, and the 1983 Christmas special Mickey’s Christmas Carol, the mouse that built the house of Disney would remain out of work for 30 years.
Yet despite Mickey’s semi-retirement, his ears are still one of the most famous cultural icons of the 20th and 21st centuries. He has posed for photographs with every U.S. President since Harry Truman, save one (Lyndon Johnson never visited a Disney theme park). Disney claims that Mickey had a 98% awareness rate among children between ages 3-11 worldwide. Mouse-related merchandise sales have declined from their 1997 high, but they still make up about 40% of the company’s consumer products revenue. Mickey returned to the big screen for a cameo in 1988’s Who Framed Roger Rabbit. Warner Brothers’ Bugs Bunny was also in the film and the two companies demanded that each character receive the same amount of screen time, down to the very last second. A semi-secret 2001 image revamp put Mickey’s logo in trendy places: on celebrities, in a Sex and the City episode — he was printed on a t-shirt and stretched across Sarah Jessica Parker’s chest — as well as in high-end boutiques. In 2002, he appeared in the PlayStation2 video game Kingdom Hearts. And in 2006, he became 3-D for the very first time. Now you can see him on Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, an early morning Disney Channel show designed for children ages 2-6. Or you can book a flight to Disney World and shake his oversized glove yourself.

Well, everything has happened in my life as i have wished. But there are other things which has also happened even without wishing and those were great also. Here i am sharing an incident which happened just yesterday which happened even without a wish..!! Well as me doing my engineering studies, i do go to my aunty’s engineering tuition institution at thripunnithura during the exam time for studying..(if i stay at home my time will piss at watching TV and surfing in the internet..) Well after that when i reached home my mother and sisters came up-to me and said that i have won prizes and i have been mailed the confirmation letter by the one the most reputed magazines in India..!!! I didn’t get it at a glance and was totally confused…..!!!!
So lemme actually come to the event..!!!
The Happening :
The actual thing is that the Readers Digest has performed some sort of prize distribution events for their customers and they have selected me as one their winner and declared an amount of Rs.72,96,500.00… I know you guys wont believe it…!! They have sent me the sample check and the payment confirmation statement letter in which i must sign and send it back..!! Well here are the pics of documents they have sent me..!!
They have requested me to fill in the details and sign the stuffs and sent it back to them within an dead-line of 14 days. Moreover i should also pay them an amount of Rs. 400 for the one year subscription of the magazine for the next upcoming year along with this also…!!! There are many surprised gifts enclosed with it and also an scratch and win card..!! When i got it scratched it says that the hidden gift is Toyota Corolla…. What to say….. seeing all this i am going nuts… Since i used my laptop webcam to take the pics i got the mirror image… and so i am not interested in including more pics..!!
The most funniest thing :
The magazine authorities has performed this stuffs for their customers and the funniest thing is that i haven’t subscribed their magazine yet and i haven’t ever spend a single penny from my pocket to buy their magazine….. and i haven’t participated even in their competitions and i haven’t even got a single free issues of their magazine till date…!!! and i haven’t yet visited their website in my life…!!!! Then how could i become their customer or subscriber…??? hehehehe…???
But i do read these stuffs by borrowing it from my friend near my house and when i informed them , they said that they aren’t even sure about it and we all are wondered ho they got my address correctly..??? hehehe..!!!
Well, even if it is fake and is done for their purposeful intension to make more subscriptions, we all (me and my family) got stunned for about half an hour…..!! hehehee…!! Anyways if i am the true winner ….. then, ” its just my luck…!!! “
Anyway my father is planning to do a call to them to know about the total mess they sent me and if finally if the gift announcement is fake or if i didn’t win i would say : ” Its just my luck…..!! ” Because i saved the money which would have been used for the courier charges and moreover i could use that amount to chill-out (i know courier charges aren’t big to save…. but i think you guys could understand the value of a single penny an college student gets to chill out especially when he is a day scholar….!!) and also i could add some more time in bonus to my usual routine (for watching TV, surfing, gaming and moreover sleeping..) without waiting for the prizes to come to my hands..!! hehehee…!!
Anyway i still confused that : ” How they got my address correctly..??? ” Oh i forgot everyone will surely save the contact details of famous people and celebrities….!! hehehe…!!

Well this is an interesting topic to talk and share. Here i am talking about nothing other than marriage hehehe….
In kerala when a marriage thing is spoken for girls as we know that they get married before an age of 25 itself. But in the case of poor male guys out there they should wait up-to an age more than 26 or 27 to get married.
Why is this like that why couldn’t boys get married even at the age which the girls do…????
Oh the boys won’t be capable of looking the family and not ready to adjust for a family life…!! What the crap..!!
According to me, when the couples are of the same the same age the bond of mutual understanding will be strong between them than the usual. Moreover they could understand each others problems and mental feelings also.( i do not mean that the existing couples do not have this feature.. but the fact is that a partner of my age could understand my problems more than those below or over my age..!!)
And when its comes to leading a happy family life, a youngster couple will be a great success… Because its the age in which they go in search for love, fall in love etc..!! So the problem of loving each other is solved. Now when it comes to leading the family… Well when he is at this young age surely his father will be at an age to guide him through the right way and teach him the lessons that life taught him to lead a successful life after the time of their parents and moreover the parents would get more care from the starting itself…!!
Moreover getting married early is not absolutely not a bad thing..!!! If a guy could get his first baby in his young age(that is, say by 24 or 25) then, the child could grow up and support his family when the main head of the family (his father) is about to fall in the vast hands of health-issues by the age of 50 ( to fall ill at this age is the latest trend in the on-going world
). When father and mother turns 50 the child will be just nearly half of their age and he/she could easy support the family.
Moreover its the common wish by every father and mother to see their grand children..!!
If possible they could even see the next generation root of their family..!! wow what a great joy.!! The great is thing is that if they have only 2 to 3 children they could see the grandchildren of their complete family and spend a time with them.!!
So should the poor men out here should wait for an age greater than 27 to get married..>???
Aren’t they capable of accomplishing things in the young age itself..????
